Brazilian couple Tamiris Muzini and Douglas Vieira Robert could not wait for their big day to arrive. For months they had been excited to exchange their vows publicly and officially start their family. It had been a stressful planning period, but they knew it would all be worth it in the end.

Thanks to their wedding planner, Huandra Cerimonialista, everything was in order and ready to go. They were confident they had prepared for everything and anything that could go wrong. Ultimately, they could have never imagined or prepared for what would happen on the big day.

While Muzini and Robert got themselves ready for their big moment, Huandra led all of the arrivals to their seats. All of the guests sat excitedly, waiting to see their friends get married. As far as they were concerned, it would be a wedding ceremony like any other.

With everyone sitting in their places, the wedding planner knew it was time for her to get the groomsmen in line for the ceremony. As she was about to do so, she was disrupted by the surprising appearance of a mysterious dog sitting by the church's front doors.

Although they found the dog to be an adorable addition to the wedding ceremony, they couldn't be sure that Tamiris and Douglas would agree. There was also the fact that the dog was blocking the entrance to the church aisle. They debated what they should do about the intruder.

While Tamiris and Douglas exchanged their vows, Huandra tried her hardest to get the dog to leave. Yes, she knew the couple was unbothered by its presence, but she worried the dog would start acting up and interrupt the wedding. However, no matter how hard she tried to move him out of the church, the dog was set on staying.

After numerous attempts, the team gave up, allowing the stray dog to live out his dream of being a wedding guest. The homeless canine lay quietly on the carpet, watching the ceremony intently. It was almost like he understood exactly what was going on.

At that moment, the couple decided they wanted to adopt the little guy, making him a permanent member of their new family. "That's when the bride said to me, 'I want to adopt him, he's amazing,'" Huandra told Bored Panda. From the minute they met the furry visitor, they felt a special connection with him.

The couple had always talked about adopting a pet at some point in their future, but they had not planned to do so immediately after marrying. That being said, when this dog jumped up at them and showered them with love, they felt it was destiny. The animal had chosen them.

Better Late Than Never

Unfortunately, with the guests around and the wedding schedule to follow, it was not the best time to formalize an adoption process. "At that moment, there was nothing I could do because I had a contract to follow, and everyone went to celebrate the wedding. Our hearts were in love with the puppy," Huandra explained.

To their disappointment, Tamiris and Douglas agreed to postpone their adoption plans until after the wedding. They understood that they could not give the dog the care and attention it needed that night. Huandra agreed to help them find him in the following days.

Where Was He?

"The first thing the couple told me, right after the wedding, was that they couldn't get the puppy out of their minds, that they really wanted to adopt him," Huandra told Bored Panda. Clearly, the couple had not forgotten about their plan to adopt their wedding crasher.

The day after the wedding, the newlyweds set out to find the stray dog who had greatly enhanced their special day. They walked the streets around the church, hoping he would be waiting for them, but they had no luck finding him. Where had he gone overnight?

Back on the Streets

Huandra wanted to do everything she could to help the couple with their final wedding wish. She decided to utilize her database at the animal rescue NGO she was involved in. "Knowing this demand, I decided to help through the NGO's page," she told Bored Panda.

She posted videos and photos of the dog, asking the people if they knew anything about its whereabouts. Soon, the post went viral, and many commented that they had seen the dog living on the streets. There was no doubt that the dog was a stray orphan and needed an owner. But how could they find him?

Reunited, At Last

Just when they were starting to lose hope of locating the dog, a tip came in from a woman named Joyce. She sent a message to Huandra saying she believed she had found the dog they had been looking for. She attached photos for her to confirm it was the same animal.

As soon as Huandra and the couple looked at the images, they knew it was the one. Joyce happily agreed to hold onto the dog until Tamiris and Douglas could reach the far-away coffee shop where he had been found. Hours later, the couple cried tears of joy as they came face to face with their wedding crasher.

Even though Caramelo was now an official part of the family and was a vital part of the wedding day, he was not invited to join his new parents on their honeymoon. It broke their hearts to leave their new pet behind, but they knew it was important they enjoy this time on their own.

Thankfully, Caramelo was left in the caring hands of Tamiris' mother while the newlyweds enjoyed their honeymoon. After all the stray dog had been through, he was just happy and grateful to be in a warm, loving home where he was fed and cared for. When the couple returned, the dog jumped into their arms.

They had chosen this specific venue because of the beautiful outdoor settings, which would serve as the perfect backdrop for the photos they would treasure forever. Although unforeseen circumstances would mean they did not get the images they dreamed of, there was something else in store.

Mother Nature Steps In

To the couple's disappointment, the weather on the day had not been favorable for an outdoor wedding as planned. After waiting patiently for the rain to stop, Marília and Matheus eventually gave up hope and agreed to move the ceremony inside the backup tent.

While Marília and Matheus exchanged their vows, they were stunned to find the dog walking into the tent yet again. This time, it had walked down the aisle to the front of the church and taken a seat on the bride's veil, ensuring it was right in the center of the action.

Making itself comfortable and at home on the veil, the dog proceeded to take a nap there. The moment was not only entertaining to the guests and couple, but it also proved to be a picture-perfect situation. "I was really surprised and thought the little guy was really cute," Marília told HuffPost.

Considering the number of homeless animals on the streets of Brazil, it's perhaps unsurprising that so many stray dogs are taking desperate measures to secure their forever homes. According to The World Organization for Animal Health, there are around 200 million stray dogs worldwide.

Shockingly, they found that 30 million of these street dogs can be found in Brazil. Although the government has been working hard to relocate these dogs into shelters, they have quickly become overcrowded. This has resulted in even more dangerous living conditions for the animals.

Adopt Don't Shop

Matheus and Marília told HuffPost they hope people will hear their story and be inspired to follow in their ways. Yes, they are aware that not every couple will be graced by the presence of a stray dog at their wedding, but they encourage the adoption of street animals.

"Here in Brazil, we have so many abandoned animals living in the street," the bride told HuffPost. "We want to make an appeal to people to not buy animals and to adopt them instead." Who knows where Snoop would be had he not stumbled into the wedding hall on that fateful day...
