The bathroom is one of the few places in the world where you get to be alone. Privacy is essential and you deserve it when you're doing your business. So you can only imagine how displeased one woman in Birkenhead was when she found an 8ft snake slithering around her bathroom.

On the 30th of December, she was at home cozy in bed when she needed to use the bathroom at around 1 a.m. She walked in and found the snake slithering across the sink and the bath. After screaming for a good few minutes, she called the police and neither she nor her neighbor were able to explain to the police how on earth a snake of this size managed to get into her house.
The police contacted a few animal organizations in order to help find a place that could take the snake and keep him safe. However, none of them were available at the time. Fortunately, Constable Chris Eastwood from the cool-sounding 'Matrix Team' came to save the day. One of their spokesmen spoke about how they handled the situation.

They said: "Constable Eastwood has knowledge of snakes and handling them and when he arrived confirmed it was a Boa Constrictor.
He was able to calmly approach the reptile, which had wrapped itself around the bathroom sinks and taps, and after giving it a drink of water was able to coax it to unravel itself so that he could put it into a large, safe container.
Constable Eastwood then made arrangements to have the snake temporarily housed at a local pet rescue facility.

"The snake has been temporarily rehomed and is doing well - the rest is hiss-tory....." Oh dear.
Although this may be a common occurrence in Australia, it's definitely not in the UK. We can only hope that this big guy didn't bring his friends.
