Your favorite cartoon savages are returning to our screens in just one month, and the countdown is on. The series featuring all-time favorite characters will be back and better than ever. With more savage comments and maybe even some celebrity cameos, here's a sneak peek at South Park Season 26.
Comedy Central is bringing in the new year with a new season that will have us in stitches. Kyle, Stan, Eric, Kenny, and the rest of the gang are back in their usual late-night slots, filling our Wednesday evenings with laughter. Fans have been addicted to the animated show since it originally aired in 1997, making it one of the longest-running sitcoms ever. Its irrelevant humor and sharp commentary have created a cultural phenomenon. Unfortunately, fans had to experience a South Park hiatus. In 2022, Season 25 aired but only consisted of six episodes. Prior to the short and sweet tune-in, the previous season debuted in 2019 and ran a course of ten episodes. Of course, while we were in the middle of a global pandemic, producers and creators had to put things on halt for a while, but this didn't mean they weren't getting busy. They owed the fans too much. Little did we know what bizarre adventures they had in store for us.
A lot of drawing and crafting has been going on. With an overload of ideas flooding through the creators' masterminds during the two years, it was impossible to ignore the opportunity - and it turns out that while the world was silent, the co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were non-stop! And we won't have to say goodbye to any cast members, as the original and favored crew remain in the new season. According to Variety, Parker and Stone had signed an "expansive deal" signed with MTV Entertainment Studios to keep these Colorado kids on our screens until 2028. That's a whole lot of Kenny. While this confirms a 30th season is on the cards, the exclusive deal also allows South Park to stream on hot hub spots like Paramount+, including iconic episode bundles such as Parts 1 & 2 of 'South Park: The Streaming Wars,' 'South Park: Post COVID,' and 'South Park: Post COVID: The Return of COVID.' With all the mischief they get up to while the world is working, we can't imagine how they dealt with their freedom being taken away from them. Thankfully, the 15-second teaser trailer gives a small glimpse of what we can expect.
The brand-new season will air on February 8th, 2023, at 10 p.m. We can barely contain our excitement to return to our South Park routine. After the premiere of Season 26, the new episodes will be available to stream on repeat in HD on SouthPark.cc.com, CC.com, and the Comedy Central app. Stay tuned!
