For sports lovers, February means only one thing: Super Bowl season! But for comedy lovers, it's an exciting time for a whole different reason: Super Bowl commercials! Over the years, Super Bowl ads have become the gold standard for memorable commercials. From wholesome Bud Light ads with adorable puppies to Discover IT's screaming goat commercial from 2015, there have been some pretty iconic clips. And it's time to add another one to the list. Here's the scoop on Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd's latest collaboration
The comedy duo paired up with potato chip brand, Lay's to bring some serious laughs and snack cravings to the big screen for this year's Super Bowl LVI. So let's dive into the comedic gold that was packed into the one-minute ad. As Lay's put it in their teaser Instagram post on January 27th: "it's like a movie trailer. Except much, much, much shorter." The Sausage Party co-stars got the advertisement started with a scene of the two of them in wedding tuxes snacking on their favorite chip and reminiscing about all the good times they've shared over a bag of Lay's (below).
From 1990s road trips blasting Shania Twain's Still the One to some unpleasant flashbacks to some extreme plane turbulence spent hyperventilating into a chip bag, the 40-Year-Old Virgin cast-mates had a lot of stops to make on memory lane. Things took an even more bizarre turn as they recalled being held hostage and even moving into a haunted mansion inhabited by a demon. But through the ups and downs, these two comedy kings always had their favorite snack by their side - and so it only made sense for them to be munching away before the biggest moment in Seth's life - marrying that very same demon! "This is the best day of my life!" the 39-year-old actor gushed as the ad finished.
