One of our favorite comedy kings is stepping into the sci-fi realm. Michael Cera is taking us on a whirlwind adventure in a brand new comedic series that promises to bend time, twist minds, and tickle funny bones! And guess who's driving this crazy train? The maestro of heist movies himself, Steven Soderbergh, the genius behind the Ocean's Eleven series!

Command Z was announced with a surprise trailer on Soderbergh's very own digital domain, Extension765. For those not familiar, it's Soderbergh's online playground where he can let his creative genius run wild without any boundaries. Now, let's paint a picture of what's in store: Michael Cera, or rather his Ozian digital clone, is calling the shots and dictating a set of missions to an eclectic group. Their task? To sneakily infiltrate the minds of people living in 2023 (yep, that's us!) and change the course of history! The catch? They're traveling through time using a wormhole built into a washing machine. Because, why on earth would you use a boring old time machine when you have laundry to do?

Sharing the spotlight with Cera in this mind-bending escapade are Roy Wood Jr., Chloe Radcliffe, and Liev Schreiber. The series will make its grand debut on July 17, exclusively on Soderbergh's website. The newsletter for the announcement read, "I think by now you’re used to me describing the somewhat mercurial behavior of our boss, Mr/Dr Soderbergh, but this recent development is next level." It goes on to question whether it's a series or a movie cut into pieces. Well, we all know Soderbergh loves to keep us guessing, doesn't he?

Soderbergh is the mastermind behind not just one, but three films from the Ocean's Eleven series. He also directed the groundbreaking film Sex, Lies, and Videotape. His directing prowess extends to Magic Mike, Erin Brockovich, Kimi, and the Starz series The Girlfriend Experience. So, if you're ready to hop aboard a rollercoaster ride through interdimensional wormholes, washing machines, and wonderfully wacky missions, then Command Z is your golden ticket! Mark your calendars for July 17, stock up on popcorn, and prepare to have your mind thoroughly blown.
