Amidst all the cancellation news being spurned out from the Netflix headquarters, one piece of good news managed to break its way through the cracks this week. While it was announced in December that the award-winning rapper, Megan Thee Stallion, would be producing an exclusive television series with Netflix, the details were incredibly limited. Finally, some major updates have been announced, and we are shaking with excitement! According to Deadline, the show will be loosely based on the rapper's personal life. Here's everything we know so far.

In December 2021, Deadline was first to report that Megan Thee Stallion had signed a deal with Netflix to produce a television show as well as other projects for the site. "I've always had a passion for telling creative and entertaining stories," Megan stated, "so I'm thrilled about this partnership with Netflix. Venturing into production is the next step in my journey as an entrepreneur, and I can't wait to bring all my ideas to life and for my Hotties to watch."

Alongside this statement, the head of Netflix Comedy, Tracey Pakosta, released an accompanying note. "Megan is a multi-talented creative force who has consistently made her mark on culture. She's always growing and evolving as an artist, and we're thrilled that she's making a home at Netflix for this next chapter in her journey." So what can we expect? "It's very early stages," Pakosta finally revealed to Deadline last week. "She came in, and she pitched something loosely based on her life growing up, and we got very excited about it. We think she's special."

Born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, the Houston-born rapper's life has had its ups and downs. Throughout the death of her mother and grandmother, and her incredibly fast rise to fame through social media, Megan has shown her remarkable resilience and manifesting capabilities. Furthermore, she is very proud of her Houston background and has frequently mentioned in interviews the pressure she feels to represent her hometown properly. With this in mind, this comedy is bound to be a hit. No further information, plot, or casting has been announced - so stay tuned for all the details!
