With November getting closer, we're officially beginning our countdown to Christmas! Perhaps the only thing more exciting than the gifts and food is the Christmas-themed content that seems to arrive in abundance at this time. One comedian contributing to the effort this year is Matt Rogers, who will release his festive comedy special, Have You Heard Of Christmas? on December 2. Set to stream on Showtime, the special will be based on his live show of the same name - including some original holiday music, hilarious comedy, and exciting guests. Here's everything we know so far...
With his heart set on being the next "Pop Prince of Christmas," Rogers is pulling out all the stops for this comedy special. In addition to crafting his own music and stand-up comedy, he's recruited some of the best comedians in the industry to help him make his mark. Saturday Night Live star Bowen Yang will make an appearance, in addition to the hilarious duo Josh Sharp and Aaron Jackson. The special has already been recorded ahead of time with a live audience at the Public Theater in New York.
Written by Rogers himself, the comedian additionally acts as the executive producer alongside Olivia Gerke, Cara Masline, and Matthew Vaughan. Doron Max Hagay will serve as the director, and Henry Koperski will be on stage to play the piano. "Ever since I was a young boy, I have wanted to be seasonally ubiquitous," Rogers explained in a statement. "So I am thrilled to finally be joining the ranks of Christmas legends like Mariah Carey and Santa with this special, 'Matt Rogers: Have You Heard of Christmas?,' and I look forward to sharing this vulnerable, intimate, and ultimately incredibly stupid night."

For those unfamiliar with his body of work, Matt currently hosts the Las Culturistas podcast with Yang. Most recently, he appeared in I Love That For You on Showtime and starred in the Hulu release Fire Island. His writing credits include The Other Two, Q-Force, and Gayme Show. Based on this impressive resume and considering Matt's appearance in Variety's 2021 10 Comics to Watch, we're confident we're in for a hysterical treat! Until then, stay tuned.
