When is Mark Wahlberg not killing it? The Ted star has recently landed a leading role in the upcoming Apple film, The Family Plan, brought by Apple Original Films and Skydance Media. The two production companies are consistently working together in bringing forward powerful movies and television, so we can only imagine The Family Plan will be nothing short of fantastic. Here's what to expect.
The upcoming action-comedy feature starring Mark Wahlberg will reunite the actor with director Simon Cellan Jones, who previously directed Wahlberg in the upcoming film Arthur the King. The upcoming adventure flick is based on the 2017 book Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home by Mikael Lindnord and follows a racer who takes in a stray dog to join him in an extremely high-intense endurance race. Wahlberg will be starring in the film alongside Simu Liu, and the film is expected to drop sometime towards the end of this year or in 2023.
Anyways, back to The Family Plan. The action comedy, written by David Coggeshall, tells the tale of a suburban dad who has no choice but to go on the run with his family when his secrets from the past catch up with him. So, we can't wait to see how that plays out! The Family Plan is the second time Skydance and Coggeshall, who is writing Matchbox for Skydance, are teaming up. The writer previously wrote the upcoming Orphan: First Kill for Paramount and Lee Daniels' untitled Netflix thriller filming in Pittsburgh. Although we don't know many details about the action-comedy, we do know that anything Mark Wahlberg touches turns to gold!
Just this year alone, Wahlberg stared in Uncharted alongside Tom Holland, which grossed more than $400 million worldwide. NBD. The 51-year-old actor then starred in Sony Pictures drama Father Stu, a true story about an amateur boxer, and currently has a thriller on Netflix, Our Man From Jersey. Soon, he can be seen starring alongside Kevin Hart in the upcoming Netflix comedy Me Time, and we can only imagine that duo! Basically, he's everywhere.
