Winner winner chicken dinner! We've officially seen it all folks, and just when we thought 2020 couldn't get any weirder, KFC comes along to prove us wrong. Move over Xbox Series X and PS5... introducing the KFC gaming console. And no, we're not kidding.
The KFConsole is essentially a VR-ready high-end gaming PC that also comes with a built-in chicken warmer. KFC released a ridiculous trailer for the console a few months ago, but everyone figured it had to be a joke. Sure enough, as luck would have it, they were being dead serious.
In a collaboration we never knew we needed: KFC (the chicken place) and Cooler Master teamed up to launch a gaming console that is capable of 4K and 240FPS. That's right, you can now play and eat warm chicken at the same time! While we can't tell you the exact release date, what we can tell you is that game-night just got good. Finger licking good to be exact.
"Moving forward from our initial teaser campaign earlier this year, we're so pleased to finally give the fans exactly what they wanted; making the KFConsole a reality," said KFC PR boss Mark Cheevers.
He continued, "We all know the console war is vicious, but we're very confident in the KFConsole as our flagship entry. This machine is capable of running games at top-level specs, all on top of keeping your meal warm for you to enjoy during your gaming experience… what's not to like? If Sony or Microsoft want any tips on how to engineer a chicken chamber for their efforts next time, they'd be welcome to get in touch."
Until we get the official release dates, we'll keep checking on kfcgaming for more updates! All it's features haven't been confirmed just yet, but what we do know is that its got an Intel Nuc 9 CPU, Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB SSD and more. Cooler Master also reported that the KFConsole has "a first of its kind hot swappable GPU slot" for easy upgrades.
But to be fair, who really cares about all that stuff when you're guaranteed warm chicken? We think you already know the answer to that one. Merry Christmas everybody!
