Chances are, that if you're like us, you've been spending the colder months and lockdown time binging some of your comedy favorites. And for one-and-done films like Superbad, as soon as the credits start rolling, we're wishing that there were another dozen films with the same hilarious cast to keep us laughing all night long. Well, we don't know about another 12 films, but Jonah Hill has just revealed his plans for Superbad 2.
It's been well over a decade since Jonah, Seth Rogen, Michael Cera, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse brought the endlessly quotable 2007 comedy to the big screen. For many of them, it was a major catapult for their career, as they went from aspiring and struggling actors to comedy legends. So why not keep the ball rolling and give fans another installment? Well, according to Hill, he's interested in the idea - but with one condition. "I haven't pitched this to anybody," Jonah explained. "What I want to do is when we're like 80, do a Superbad 2," he shared in a recent interview with W Magazine. "Like, old-folks home Superbad. Our spouses die, and we're single again," he continued to outline. "That's what I want Superbad 2 to be, and that's the only way I would ever make it."
As if the idea wasn't exciting enough, the hype only continued to build when an Instagram exchange revealed another cast member was on-board with Jonah's long-term plan! "At the rate, it took us to write the first one, we should probably get started on this," Seth Rogen commented on Jonah Hill's post quoting his grand plans. "I'm 68 now, so only 12 more years!" the award-winning comedian joked in his caption. And while it may have brought a lot of laughs, it also provided a lot of excitement for fans of the 2007 classic. In fact, Christopher Mintz-Plasse also jumped into the comment section, adding, "Yeh **** it I could use the work."
