America's favorite self-deprecating comedian is back and continuing his tour around the States. John Mulaney, known for his work on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live, has built a loyal fan base since leaving SNL, and has made a name for himself through his standup tours and specials with streaming services. Mulaney's most recent nationwide tour, From Scratch, began in 2021 and will continue until December 31st of 2023.
The Guardian gave the show five stars, calling it "an astounding performance" and praising Mulaney's "slickness and crisp articulacy." The New York Times also praised the show, calling it "a moving and funny portrait of a man in recovery." The review also noted that Mulaney is "a master of timing and delivery" and that his new material is "some of his best work yet." Given the success of the first legs of the tour and the positive reviews, fans weren't too surprised that Mulaney would continue his positive streak with more shows across the country.
It has yet to be confirmed whether fans can expect another Netflix standup special from the comedian. Considering the streaming service's success with Mulaney's other specials, The Comeback Kid, Kid Gorgeous at Radio City, John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch, and Baby J, fans can keep their hopes up that another collaboration may be on the horizon. Mulaney is re-starting the next leg of the tour on the east coast in New York, then making his way to Ohio, South Carolina, and Georgia. After a short break, he will return to Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, Illinois, and finally ending the nationwide tour in Arizona on New Year's Eve.
