Netflix has announced Jennifer Garner and Ed Helms will be starring in the streamer's latest comedy film, Family Leaveand we can't wait. The film was first announced back in February of 2021, but fast forward nearly 2 years, and we finally have news on who is leading the film! Although there is no update on the official release date, let's take a closer look at what we know thus far.

Family Leave is the perfect comedy for the whole family, starring two of the funniest people in the biz. Per the official synopsis, the body-swap comedy focuses on Jess (Garner) and Bill Walker (Helms), who are "doing their best to keep their family connected as their children grow older, more independent, and more distant. When a chance encounter with an astrological reader causes the family to wake up to a full body switch on the morning of the most important day of each of their lives, can the Walkers unite to land a promotion, college interview, record deal, and soccer tryout?" Although we don't know exactly how the swapping will go - if the actors are going to play each other or their children - we're in for a lot of laughs!

And who better to star in a body-swap comedy than someone who has very famously starred in one of the most iconic body-swap films of all time? Jennifer Garner, of course! For those who forgot, the actress played a teen who wakes up as an adult one morning after wishing she was older in one of the most iconic movies of the early 2000s, 13 Going on 30. So clearly, she know's what she's doing!

The upcoming comedy is actually based on the New York Times bestselling children's book written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, Bedtime for Mommy. The screenplay for Family Leave was written by Adam Sztykiel, who is known for his range of work - from DC's Black Adam to the family-friendly film Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. Joseph McGinty Nichol will direct the body swap comedy, a.k.a. McG, who famously helmed This Means War and Charlie's Angels. So, make sure to stay tuned for more Family Leave updates as we get them!
