Every year (with the exception of the last), the stars gather together at the Golden Globes Awards to celebrate the best that Hollywood has to offer. Television, movies, actors, actresses, comedy, and drama, every category is covered at the glossy ceremony. At comedy.com, our focus is always on all things funny, so we've compiled a list of the comedic content and stars to win big this year. 2022 was a heck of a good year for comedy, so as expected, the competition was tight...

Starting with the Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, movies such as Babylon and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery were all in the running. Ultimately, however, it was The Banshees of Inisherin that took the prize home. Its main star, Colin Farrell, was also recognized for his performance as he was crowned winner of Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy. Michelle Yeoh from Everything Everywhere All at Once was deemed the best actress in this category.

Unlike the Academy Awards, the Hollywood Foreign Press also acknowledges the best in television. The Bear, Hacks, Only Murders in the Building, and Wednesday were all nominated for Best Television Series, Musical Comedy, but the hilarious Abbott Elementary was announced as the winner. The show's lead actress Quinta Brunson was crowned best actress in this category, beating out Kaley Cuoco (The Flight Attendant), Selena Gomez (Only Murders in the Building), Jenna Ortega (Wednesday), and Jean Smart (Hacks). Brunson's co-star Tyler James Williams was also a winner, taking home the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series.

When it came to Best Actor in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy, five of the greatest comedic actors were competing for the title. Donald Glover from Atlanta, Bill Hader from Barry, Steve Martin, and Martin Short from Only Murders in the Building all cheered while Jeremy Allen White from The Bear stepped onto the stage. We'd also be crazy not to acknowledge the hysterical acceptance speech of Jennifer Coolidge, who ironically won for her dramatic acting skills in The White Lotus! "My neighbors are speaking to me and things like that. I mean it. I was never invited to one party on my hill, and now everyone's inviting me. I just – you know, it's to you, Mike White," she said to the audience's laughter. All in all, another great night in Hollywood.
