He was the handsome heartthrob of the early 2000s, making us laugh in romantic comedies such as Good Luck ChuckMy Best Friend's Girl, and Employee of the Month. Now, the comedian is taking things in a different direction with his new comedy stand-up special, Above It All, set to air in October; it will be available to watch on the social media platform Moment. The day before, a premiere event will take place at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, the first comedian to host a special there. Here's what to expect...

"On stage and in the industry, I am always looking for new ways to challenge the traditional and raise the bar, which is why I am thrilled to announce I partnered with Moment on this special," Cook told Variety. "'Above It All' is about being authentic comedically, controlling my IP, and maintaining integrity as a creator. It's real. It's elevated. It's revolutionary. Oh, and it's the funniest show I've ever done."

The special that will air on Moment was recorded in Cook's Hollywood Hills mansion after he converted it into a small amphitheater, especially for the occasion. Inviting a small audience inside, Cook believed this would help viewers see him perform from his most comfortable place. Cook served as the special's executive producer, with Rocky Mudaliar acting as the producer. The special was directed by Marty Callner, who directed Cook's two previous specials, Vicious Circle and Isolated Incident. Talking of the project, Callner praised Cook's efforts. "Dane truly thinks out of the box, and we are always able to create magic together. This time, we push the envelope even further and set the bar once again. I feel so blessed to work with him again."

Moment, the platform previously named Moment House, is an application offering fans the chance to experience various events and performances from the comfort of their own home. For a ticketed price, they gain access to exclusive content called "Moments." Since its start, various artists have teamed up with the company to create these cinematic experiences, including Halsey, Vince Staples, and Tame Impala. Pre-order the special now, which will be available to stream on Moment from 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET on October 5.
