We may still be mourning the end of Schitt's Creek, but this news certainly softens the blow! Dan Levy is set to be the face of a brand new cooking competition series coming to HBO Max this year. And we've got all the details for this new project...
The show, The Big Brunch is described as an unscripted cooking competition hosted by the Emmy Award-winning actor. But not only will Levy be in front of the camera, but he's the mastermind behind the whole show. And for him, the idea of a cooking show centered around brunch couldn't have been a more perfect fit. "Everybody has a friend, a family member, or a co-worker that is extraordinary at what they do, they just need a leg up so that their talents can be appreciated on a larger scale," Dan explained of the inspiration behind this new television show. "Thanks to an almost obsessive love of food, I've been lucky enough to come across so many of those people in the culinary world - friends working out of cafes or food trucks, revolutionizing the menus at local diners - those special humans who create communities around their cooking, hoping to take their skills to the next level."
And while the focus of this new gig for Dan may be food, we can only expect to see his comedic energy shine through during his hosting duties. And he's not the only one with a funny bone joining the cast. Former Bon Appetit YouTube sensation Sohla El-Waylly is also joining as a judge, along with Will Guidara. "We owed it to our competing chefs to find judges who could help them in really meaningful ways - both in the kitchen and beyond, and Sohla and Will do just that," Levy and his team of producers gushed in a recent statement.
