Finally, our favorite father-son duo is coming back to TV, but this time in an on-screen sitcom that is long overdue! Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. are set to star in a CBS comedy series co-written by Damon Wayans Sr. and former Last Man Standing executive producer Kevin Hench. The upcoming show is Wayans' return to network comedy after co-creating ABC's My Wife and Kids back in 2001. The hilarious sitcom ran for five seasons, and Wayans Jr. made his TV acting debut on the show, which ended in a major reoccurring role. The younger Wayans continued his comedy TV acting career in single-camera comedies such as New Girl, Happy Endings, The Underground and starred in the multi-camera sitcom Happy TogetherHappy Together only lasted for one season, but it gave fans a sneak-peak at what the upcoming CBS show will look like after Wayans Sr. guest starred in an episode as Wayans father in an episode titled "Like Father, Like Son."

In addition to appearing on his father's show, the four-time Emmy nominee most recently was seen in Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, Lethal Weapon, and Supercool. Damon Wayans just finished up Netflix's Players and served as an executive producer on the platform's drama series, Glamorous. However, make sure to look out for him, starring alongside Pam Grier in the upcoming thriller film, Cinnamon. He's basically all over the map!

The upcoming comedy is set to star both Wayans as father and son as they navigate through life together. Wayans Sr. plays a popular radio host and happily divorced "Poppa" who takes care of his son, Wayans Jr., who has the personality and charm of his father but lacks his drive as he enters his forties. The show will be executively produced by Wayans and Wayans Jr. in addition to Hench and helmed by CBS Studio, where Wayans Jr. production company Two Shakes Entertainment is based. So make sure to stay tuned for more updates as we get them!
