We know them as the Please Don't Destroy comedy trio from Saturday Night Live - and now we're seeing them in a similar (but different) light! SNL breakout stars Ben Marshall, Martin Herlihy, and John Higgins are getting set to hit the big screen, and as the massive SNL fans that we are-we can't wait to see what this is all about...

For those that aren't familiar with Please Don't Destroy, let us give a lil background. The hilarious group met at New York University and were hired together as writers on the 47th season of Saturday Night Live. The crew put out some hysterical shorts during the past season, such as "Good Variant" and "Three Sad Virgins," where Taylor Swift and Pete Davidson made cameo performances. Anyways now that caught you up on some SNL homework, let's take a closer look at the Univeral Pictures' upcoming film.

The unnamed comedy acquired from the fantastic writing trio is planned to drop next summer. And in addition to penning the film, Please Don't Destroy will also star in and executive produce the film. The one and only Judd Apatow has hopped on as the producer, in addition to Saturday Night Live alum Paul Briganti taking the director's seat. So safe to say, the behind-the-scenes crew is epic and well taken care of. So, who should we expect to see in front of the camera - and what exactly is the untitled comedy about?

Thus far, the cast is looking pretty stacked! Conan O'Brien, Meg Stalter from HacksSaturday Night Live comedian Bowen Yang, and Nichole Sakura from Superstore have all been tapped to star in the Please Don't Destroy comedy. The comedy follows three friends from childhood who both work and live together, but when they decide they aren't loving where life is taking them, they decide to go on the adventure of a lifetime and find a secret golden treasure that is allegedly buried in a mountain nearby. The film has already begun production in North Carolina and is set to launch in theaters on August 18, 2023! Until then, stay tuned.
