Cameron Diaz is coming out of retirement - and we are thrilled by the news! Although the story is being held under wraps, the actress is scheduled to lead alongside Jamie Foxx in an upcoming Netflix movie titled Back in Action (which feels oddly appropriate given the situation). Although there is not much detail regarding the action-comedy, we do know that Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) is directing, with a script he wrote alongside Brendan O'Brien (Neighbors), so we know we're in for a laugh!

Diaz, the OG rom-com queen and a part of the OG Charlies Angels squad, is coming back to Hollywood and stepping out of her retirement. The actress confirmed her retirement from acting back in 2018 after last co-starring in Annie in 2014. And now, eight years later, she's coming back! The actress quit acting in order to spend more time with her family, but now with the right project presenting itself, Diaz is returning to our screens (for now)...

Foxx took to his Twitter to announce Diaz's re-entry to the biz, with an audio clip phone conversation with Diaz, who revealed she's "so excited" yet "anxious" about getting behind the camera again! The clip offered listeners a short interaction between Diaz and Foxx, where Foxx asked the actress how she's feeling, to which she responded, "I feel excited, but I don't know how to do this, ya know?" Foxx decided to bring in a third party who is quite familiar with retirement and un-retirement into the conversation to give Diaz a few words of encouragement.

Foxx brought in Tom Brady, NFL icon who announced his retirement from the sport in February and re-joined the league just over a month later. After Brady was brought on to the conversation, Foxx jumped off and let the two talk about retirement and all that good stuff. We hope Brady had a few words of wisdom to offer the Bad Teacher actress to calm her nerves! Regardless, we can't wait for Diaz to return to our screens again, so stay tuned for any updates on the upcoming film, scheduled to go into production later this year!
