Brandon Flynn Set To Star in Poltergeist Comedy

The stars of two of Netflix's biggest releases are teaming up for a new original comedy, set to be released on HBO Max! 13 Reasons Why's Brandon Flynn and Atypical's Nik Dodani are the latest in a long list of actors to join the latest horror-comedy movie, The Parenting. So, what can we expect?

Nik and Brandon will be joining Succession's Brian Cox, The Sopranos' Edie Falco, Friends star Lisa Kudrow and Breaking Bad's Dean Norris, who are all already confirmed stars on the project. Flynn celebrated the announcement on Instagram with a picture of himself and Brandon along with the caption "The Parenting, swipe!" The film will be directed by Craig Johnson, who is himself famous for being an SNL co-writer and the director of the popular movies Alex Strangelove and The Skeleton Twins. Johnson will work off the script written by Kent Sublette, and shooting is scheduled to begin at the end of March 2022 in Massachusetts.

Although details about the project have been pretty limited, a brief synopsis reveals that the horror-comedy film follows a young gay couple, Graham and Josh, who decide to organize a "meet the parents" weekend getaway at a cozy rental house in the country. Unfortunately, once they arrive, they realize they are not alone in the home as they discover a poltergeist has already been 'living' in the house for four hundred years. We can only imagine what happens next...

The film's central couple will be played by Doadi and Flynn, and the parenting duos will be played by Cox, Falco, Norris, and Kudrow. With this line-up of comedy legends combining their magic together on screen, we are counting down the days till we can get in on the hilarious madness! Promising plenty of screams and laughs, the movie is set to be a cinematic treat. The film is being co-produced by New Line Cinema alongside Chris Bender and Jake Weiner's production company, Good Fear Content. No release date has been announced yet. Stay tuned...
