Ah, 'tis the season. You know what that means: The weather outside is 'frightful', and people everywhere are donning those pumpkin spice lattes.
It also means people have begun flaunting those darn Christmas decorations. And it's always a treat seeing those crafty ensembles.
But one Welsh man's bizarre lights were nothing short of 'crafty', and the backstory is going to inspire you...
Christian Roach, 41, was diagnosed with testicular cancer last holiday season, after feeling pains in his testicle while at work.
'I can't explain what it felt like to be told I had cancer. I would not wish it upon my worst enemy,' he recalls.
But after an orchidectomy a few weeks later, he was officially declared cancer free. 'It felt amazing to be given the all clear so quickly. I was very stressed about it and Christmas was a very hard time of the year for me last year.'
And so, come this holiday season, he decided to employ his own crafty lights: Using 750 fairy lights, Roach hung up 'Check Yr Nuts' on the railings outside the front of his home.
And while he 'just said this as a joke at first,' 'the message with the lights is massive and really important to' him. 'I knew very little about cancer and stuff before but it's so important to catch it early...If the lights can help just one man then it has worked,' the cancer survivor reflected.
And his brave deed has definitely gone acknowledged. Roach says he's had countless friends already reach out to doctors, or him, for advice.
Well, Happy Holidays folks, and may we wish you a happy, healthy Christmas.
