Andy Cohen and NBC are joining forces to create a coming-of-age comedy inspired by Andy Cohen's bestselling book, Most Talkative. The upcoming comedy, sporting the same title, comes from Universal Television and is written by Gordon Greenberg (Holiday Inn: The New Irving Berlin Musical) and Michael Weiner (First Date on Broadway) with Emmy winner Todd Holland (Malcolm in the Middle, 30 Rock) attached as director.
Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture was published in 2012 by the Bravo guru and follows a fictionalized 13-year-old Andy Cohen during his coming-of-age years in St. Louis in the 1980s. Cohen is gay, obsessed with soap operas, loves the Cardinals, and is the ultimate source of entertainment and center of all things drama. The upcoming series is about "not fitting into any one box and figuring out how to build your own." Cohen said in a recent statement, "I'm tickled to use my childhood as the jumping-off point for what I know will be a hilarious show, and to work with an incredible team, including my pal Jason Blum and UTV." And Andy, we are more than delighted to see it come to life.
The radio and iconic television host, producer, and writer is best known for being the host of Bravo's late-night talk show Watch What Happens Live! in addition to basically running the Bravo network. Cohen's producing and writing credits run deep with his work on Top Chef, Project Runway, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and the Million Dollar Listing and Real Housewives franchises. He is basically a reality TV legend, and we couldn't love him more.
Cohen is currently scheduled to lead the ultimate fan extravaganza experience for this year's BravoCon, which will feature over 140 Bravolebrities in one place for a three-day experience. This October, fans will gather together for three days to enjoy over 60 live events featuring the best of the best. Cohen will host five episodes of Watch What Happens Live! from the event this year and introduce for the first time ever WWHL Presents: Andy's Legends Ball. What is that, you may ask? The Ball is a reflection on all of the biggest TV moments in Bravo history, and you don't want to miss it.
