Buckle up, people, because Alicia Silverstone just hinted she might be ready for a sequel to Blast From the Past, and we are absolutely here for it. And not just any sequel, mind you – one with the charming Brendan Fraser. Excuse us while we dig up our '90s gear and start playing Spice Girls on repeat.
Silverstone, famous for her role in Clueless, made the exciting announcement during a panel at '90s Con. When asked if she would revisit the film that captivated audiences in 1999, she responded excitedly, "With Brendan? I would do anything with Brendan. It was so much fun." But that's not all - apparently, Silverstone and Fraser recently reunited at the Vanity Fair Oscars party. Fraser had won an Academy Award for his role in Darren Aronofsky's The Whale, and he talked about the struggles he went through to get to where he is today. "So yes, I'm happy to do that," Silverstone exclaimed.
In case you're not privy to the cinematic magic that is Blast From the Past, let us catch you up. Fraser played a 35-year-old man who had spent his entire life living in a fallout shelter built by his father (played by Christopher Walken). As he emerges into the modern world, he meets Eve (Silverstone), who opens his eyes to a whole new life. Cue the romantic comedy swooning! But let's be real - the real question here is: Would they still manage to capture the magic of the first film after 24 years? Would it be a glorious reunion, or would it fall flat like a soda that's been sitting out too long? Honestly, we're willing to take that risk.

We definitely hope this sequel gets rolling! Is it too soon to break out the retro costumes and the old-school music? Fraser summed it up perfectly in his Oscar acceptance speech: "It's been like I've been on a diving expedition and the air on the line to the surface is being watched over by some people in my life like my sons." We're hoping to get the chance to dive back in and see where Blast From the Past 2 takes us. Stay tuned.
