Jane Gottlieb, age 70, is a color-obsessed artist who turned her "beige and boring" mansion into a rainbow oasis. She spends an average of £4,000 a year on painting every corner of her home a different color, despite the fact that her neighbors disapprove.

Jane said: "When people come that have never visited before they just instantly smile, they are instantly happy because they've never seen anything like it. They say 'oh my God, this is amazing'. I hear the same thing all the time - 'you can't be unhappy in this house'. I don't understand this obsession with beige and brown, I just don't know why that is such a popular color combination for the world."

She continued, "I'm attracted to color, when I see anything that is bright or colorful I want it."

Well, we're sure there's never a dull moment in this household. She said, "When we first moved in it was beige and brown with the beige carpet and all these truly awful and ugly built-in parts." It's taken Jane a few years to make her dream house, and we have to say, it looks like a good time.

Jane continued, "It's my 3-D art piece filled with my art and I'm really proud of it, I love living here, it's a great place."
