Being funemployed certainly has its perks. But what about when you're ready to get back to the office? Perhaps Jay Beech can help us out with that one. The former marketing creative found himself thinking out of the box when it came to catching potential employers' eyes. Safe to say, he did just that - and then some...
It all started when the social media manager found himself laid off at a recent job as part of his company's pay cuts. Instead of shooting out some e-mails or trying his luck on LinkedIn, Jay decided to take a slightly different approach: TikTok. In the span of about 60 seconds, the amused user belted out his best rendition of I Will Survive - all while explaining what makes him the perfect potential employee, of course.
@jayybeech TikTok! Do your thing please 🥲🧡 ##fyp ##hireme

"I've got a fire for marketing and I'd like to keep that going strong," Beech sang in the hilarious proposal (above). But forget his ability to hit those high notes for a second - the TikTok funny guy also managed to impress with his savvy style. Dressed up in a colorful blouse and trendy flare jeans, has job-seeking ever looked this good?
Perhaps it hasn't... In the blink of an eye, the entertaining post caught the attention of users everywhere, raking in almost 700 thousand views and over 70 thousand likes. Aaaand then came the job offers. "Hey, Jay Beech, if you're ever in the market for some freelance work, drop me a message," one comment read. "You are one of the best people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with - your creativity is out of this world," wrote another.
But the truth is that Jay Beech has always been standing out from the crowd. "I'm tattooed, I've got a big ginger beard, I'm quite out there, I dress quite out there," the viral star proudly explained. From unemployed to unable to keep tabs of the job offers now hurdled his way, perhaps we could all learn a thing or two from the job seeker's journey to our feeds: 1) being different is never a bad thing, and 2) who knows? Maybe our dream job is one karaoke session away...
