And just like in any profession, there are those who are just starting out - and others who have mastered every trick in the book. A viral TikTok video recently posted by two moms highlighted how this difference manifests itself in parenting...
The hilarious clip stars Tova Leigh, a parent, writer, performer, and content creator on the social media platform, alongside fellow mom Riona O Connor. Throughout the video, Leigh plays the "veteran mom" in various situations, while Conner is the "new mom." And boy, are their performances spot-on. In the first scene of the video, the two women appear to be sitting in lawn chairs in a yard when their off-screen children apparently get into a fight. Conner, performing the role of the new mom, uses a soft, sweet voice to tell the kids, "Oh honey, no, no fighting, sweetie. Gentle hands." When her method seems to fail, then Leigh steps in and shouts, "WE SAID STOP FIGHTING." As any experienced mother would expect, the veteran mom's sharp voice proves to be much more effective.
In another scene, Conner seems to notice that her off-screen child has gotten all dirty while playing outside. "Oh, look at those little dirty knees! Let me wipe them, come here, come here," she says, using her baby voice, as she pulls out some baby wipes to clean the dirt off the child's legs. Leigh, on the other hand, appears to have a different approach in mind. Before Conner even finished her sentence, Leigh pulls out a garden hose and sprays the children with water. LOL.

Needless to say, viewers were in stitches over the hilariously relatable performances of the two TikTokkers. One mom wrote, "Me with my first vs. my third," while another user wrote, "I don’t even have kids, but I’m the veteran mom, lmao." LOL. The hilarious video has been liked by more than 600,000 people since it was posted, and shared more than 50,000 times. It's safe to say a good number of TikTok users agree that parenting styles are bound to change over time - especially as families grow to have more children to discipline. In any case, it's a good thing we can always count on TikTok moms to make us laugh through it all...
