Neighbor Mistakes Parrot For Woman Screaming And Calls The Police
| LAST UPDATE 06/30/2021
When you live in the suburbs, you can only hope that you'll merit some good neighbors. Ones that will lend you a cup of sugar, or call the cops if there's a problem. Police in the US were recently called to a property by a neighbor who claimed they could hear a woman screaming.
They were right about the woman part, but not so much on the 'woman' part. The cries for help came from a green parrot.
In the home security footage, we see a man in his driveway in Lake Worth Beach, Florida. At the time, he was fixing his wife's car before New Year's Eve. While he is busy, there are clear screams for 'help' and 'let me out!' going off in the background.
However, the man, who has remained anonymous, paid no attention to the cries at all.
Suddenly, four police officers arrived saying that they received reports from a neighbor of a woman screaming. The homeowner was clearly aware of what caused the mix-up and gave a little smirk. He kept them waiting while he went to "bring out the screamer."
The officers then burst into laughter when they saw the homeowner walk out with a green parrot on his arm saying "Rambo, meet the boys in green."
Rambo's owner recalled on the incident saying: "I was changing the brakes on my wife's car and had my 40-year-old parrot, Rambo, on his outside perch where he sings and talks. Sometime later, four police officers showed up saying a neighbor called because she heard a woman screaming for help. I promptly introduced the officers to Rambo and we all had a good laugh."
He then took Rambo to the neighbor so that he could put her heart at ease. "Afterward, I also introduced Rambo to the neighbor who called in the screaming. She too had a good laugh," he said. "Sometimes Rambo yells 'help, help, let me out.' Something I taught him when I was a kid and Rambo lived in a cage."
Well, at least Rambo's cries didn't go to waste. He was let out and introduced to 4 police officers and a neighbor, which is a lot in a day's work.
