Most of us have vivid memories of our first McDonald's happy meal. Yes, the food inside was delicious, but the main event was the toy included. Who could blame us? The suspenseful excitement of seeing which toy we had been given was enough to have us impatiently ripping open the box. Well, folks, it's now time to relive those precious memories - the time as a full-functioning adult. For the first time ever, the fast food giant has temporarily added adult Happy Meals to their menus, and the internet has come alive in response! In addition to all the necessary details, we've rounded up some of the best social media reactions to the news.

Available across the US till the end of October 2022, adults can choose either 10 Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac for their happy meal. Like traditional kids' Happy Meals, it will include fries, a drink, and yes, a toy. The chain worked with fashion brand Cactus Plant Flea Market, who helped to create the four-eyed characters for the gifts. "We're taking one of the most nostalgic McDonald's experiences and literally repackaging it in a new way that's hyper-relevant for our adult fans," gushed McDonald's US Marketing Chief. This move comes after much demand from fans for the creation of an adult happy meal. With this in mind, the incredible online response was inevitable...

"Did I get the adult happy meal from mcdonald's? Yee, I did. In fact, it would seem most people did," tweeted one excited fan. "I Want An Adult Happy Meal NOWWWWW," laughed another alongside a video of a grown woman expressing her anger.

Understandably, the toys seem to be the biggest attraction of the happy meals. Adults all over America have temporarily lost all sense of their age as they do whatever it takes to get their hands on the CPFM dolls. "THEY RAN OUT OF THE TOYS SO I COULDN’T GET THE ADULT HAPPY MEAL," cried a Twitter user. If a meal in a box with a free gift helps to temporarily ease the burden of being a responsible adult, who are we to judge? We'll be grabbing one while we can!
