Don't hate the player, hate the game - right? Well, actually, in this case, we're loving the player for loving the game. Recently, former Buffalo Bills star Ryan Fitzpatrick was spotted at an NFL game. And it didn't take long for him to stand out from the crowd - literally. From the hilarious exchange to the viral thread it called for, here's why Twitter (and frankly, us too) can't get enough of the veteran athlete.

It all started on January 15, when the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots took to Highmark Stadium for a wild-card match. But as far as we're concerned, the only wild-card here was the overzealous fan spotted standing in the crowd: none other than Fitzpatrick himself. Safe to say, the shirtless star was just as excited about the game as we were. Well, maybe a tad more if we're being honest...

But why don't we let the video above do all the talking here? Sure enough, after posting the hilarious exchange online, fellow fan Kyle Margeson's clip quickly went viral. Raking in thousands of likes and reposts, Fitzpatrick's love for the game has taken the online world by storm. "If you look up "Bills Mafia" in the dictionary, there's a picture of Ryan Fitzpatrick shirtless at Saturday's game," one user joked. "Find you someone that loves you the way Ryan Fitzpatrick loves Buffalo," wrote another. And, well, they're not wrong.

In case you forgot, NFL's brightest cheerleader actually played four seasons for the Buffalo team - from 2009 to 2012. But while he may not be repping red, white, and blue anymore, Fitzpatrick is clearly just as patriotic for his former stomping grounds. Just ask Billy Fisher (above), one lucky fan who got to catch the action live. "I honestly didn't feel the cold because I was just so happy," the Bills fan recalled. "The adrenaline rush got me through it." We love to hear it, though we'd certainly bring a jacket next time... Until then, stay tuned.
