There is nothing like the genuine love between a grandparent and a grandchild. Doug Hayes is a proud grandfather to 10 children and this Christmas he truly outdid himself.
Hayes, from Oregon, bought himself and his grandkids a school bus for Christmas so that all 10 could fit for the ride to and from school. He even branded the bus with the words 'Grandfather Express' written on the side.

On Christmas day, he surprised his family with his insane gift. Speaking to local TV station KSBW, Doug said that "The kids have always said, 'Gee whiz, I like our school, but we would like to be able to have a school bus'." Well, grandpa knows how to take a hint because that was all it took for him to go buy a school bus.
Five of Doug's grandchildren are in a small private school called Paideia Classical Christian School. They don't have a school bus so the parents have to ferry them to and from the campus. Whilst trying to maintain full-time jobs. The other five have not yet started school but they will begin in the upcoming year.

So, Grandpa Doug figured that the best idea would be for him to buy a bus and take the kids to school in the morning. Since he lives two or three miles from the school, and the children live about 20 minutes away from him, he will take them in the morning and leave the bus at his house before going off to work.
He then explained that "It's primarily about getting to spend a few minutes with them every single morning." He then said that his wife, Amy, played a big role in helping him make this dream come true. It wasn't easy finding the perfect sized bus but when they found it... they hit the jackpot. It was already decorated with magnetic numbers and letters for children.

All Doug needed to do next was install the seatbelts and the custom paint job. From now on, these lucky kids are going to be riding with grandpa every morning.
