Ah, the Olympics: a time of great pride and celebration throughout the world. But that's not all the beloved sporting event is good for. Of course, we're talking about the hilarious memes that have since come out of it. From Michael Phelps's competitive side to Usain Bolt's running face, we'd say the internet officially struck gold here...
First up on our list? Bahamian athlete, Shaunae Miller. Back in 2016, as the 22-year-old sprinter competed for gold in the 400-meter race, she sent the online world running wild. But why don't we let the meme it soon called for do all of the talking here? Keep scrolling.

Ouch, that's gotta leave a mark. But Miller's not the only one we once caught headed down a slippery slope. Of course, we're talking about Michael Phelps, who also sent the meme-world ablaze after competing in the 2016 Rio Games. Have a look for yourself at the diver's, um, resting competitive face below, and you'll understand why we can't get enough of it.
Safe to say, if looks could kill, Michael Phelps’ reality would look very different right about now. Seriously, look at that face. We certainly wouldn’t want to get on his bad side. But when it comes to the next athlete on our list? Usain Bolt looked… happy to be competing for a chance at first place during the 2016 Olympic semifinal 100-meter dash. A little too happy, some might say. After all, who knew running for dear life could look so… graceful?

From Michael Phelps', um, game-face to Usain Bolt's impressive grace, it appears the online world is officially 10 steps ahead of the game. But with the 2020 Olympics officially underway in Tokyo, we've got a feeling there's lots more fun where that came from. As for whose face will find its way onto our feeds this time around? We guess only time will tell here.
We'd definitely stay tuned.
