| LAST UPDATE 06/30/2021
After announcing his new sitcom last month, we've been dying to know more about Jamie Foxx's Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! The Netflix show's trailer has officially been released, showing viewers a whole new father-daughter relationship, and it's hilarious!
The trailer shows Foxx's character, Brian Dixon, a successful business owner and bachelor who takes on an entirely new challenge. Brian has just become a full-time single father to his teenage daughter, Sasha, who's played by Kyla-Drew Simmons. While this is a scary thought for Brian, he's determined to make things right with his daughter and bond in any way possible as they adjust to living together for the first time.

Brian worries that he won't be able to connect with his strong-minded daughter, and he certainly experiences some bumps in the road, but that doesn't hold him back. We even get to see this loving father embarrass Sasha with his old-school dance moves, as Sasha is far from impressed. Since TikTok is so popular these days, Brian starts dancing in public, telling Sasha to "get this on your TikTok."
The sitcom was inspired by Foxx's relationship with his own daughter, Corinne Fox, who's also an executive producer of the show. "It's so fulfilling to see how these stories have grown into something that my dad and I can cherish and love," said Corinne. Aside from Foxx and Simmons, other cast members include Porscha Coleman, David Alan Grier, and some other famous faces. Grier, who previously worked with Foxx on the sitcom In Living Color, was especially excited to be back in front of the camera with his long-time friend. "It really was surreal," he shared.
"Jamie told me he wanted someone there that he knew he could pass the baton to. My main concern was, 'Is Jamie really going to be in the show?'... But Jamie was there every minute, every day, encouraging me to do more and run with it," Grier continued. And apparently, Foxx and Grier's onscreen chemistry is undeniable. "When David came to set, I saw them immediately light up and comedically understand each other," Corinne recalled. "I was like, 'Oh, this is the money. This is why my dad was so adamant to have David be a part of it.'" So, get ready for some laughs from Jamie Foxx, David Alan Grier, and the rest of this iconic cast in Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! on April 14th!
