The legendary Hollywood powerhouse's latest project is slotted to debut both on Netflix and in select theatres on December 24th. So we've got one hilarious Christmas Eve lined up for this year! But this is no holiday feel-good comedy, rather, it tells the satirical story of two scientists trying to spread awareness of impending doom for all of planet earth. And according to Netflix's promo description, "The response from a distracted world: Meh."

Despite being a comedy, Adam McKay's new project is also meant to highlight social issues and tell a provocative warning tale of what happens when governments prioritize wealth over the wellbeing of the population. And if there's anyone who can walk the fine line between apocalypse and LOL-worthy comedy, it's McKay. And he's got an elite cast of Hollywood legends to help deliver the comedic gold. So get ready for one seriously accomplished role call of actors and actresses!

Playing the role of the panicked astronomers trying to educate the masses are Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. The disinterested President is none other than Meryl Streep, who is joined by Jonah Hill to act out the role of her power-hungry son who serves as her Chief of Staff. This Academy Award-decorated cast is joined by the likes of Tyler Perry, Timothée Chalamet, and Matthew Perry. But that's not all - the musical talents of both Ariana Grande and Scott Mescudi were also brought in to take this flick to the next level. With additional roles handed to Ron Perlman, Himesh Patel, and Chris Evans, this project has got the star power of an average Oscars ceremony and will be sure to make audiences laugh come December 24th.
