"Ready or not, here comes mama," says a background track at the end of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's Season 4 teaser. And that one line is really all you need to know to understand the mood for this latest season - Miriam "Midge" Maisel is here to make a splash, whether the comedy industry is ready or not. Keep scrolling for all of the marvelous details.
The hit series' highly-anticipated Season 4 is finally on its way after a painful two-year hiatus. And if the teaser is any indication, we have plenty to look forward to. The new clip focuses on a conversation between Midge and her manager, Susie - in a diner, obviously. As the two women discuss Miriam's career, the scene is interrupted by visuals from other parts of Season 4. And Mrs. Maisel is here to make a raucous.
"It's 1960 and change is in the air," details the Amazon Prime description for the upcoming season. "Looking to hone her act, Midge finds a gig with total creative freedom. But her commitment to her craft - and the places it takes her - creates a rift between her and the family and friends around her." From purposely knocking over a waiter's platter to hitting a taxi cab with a tree branch, all bets are off for what to expect from Midge.
Rachel Brosnahan, who plays the popular on-screen character, previously said she was "Just as excited as everyone else" for the new batch of episodes. "I have absolutely no idea what's happening," she told The Jess Cagle Show at the time. "I am being a hundred percent honest. I haven't seen a script. I haven't seen anything." And while the talented actress had no idea what to expect, one thing was for sure: she was terrified.
Even years into the job and with the series' undeniable success, Brosnahan said she is still nervous each new season as filming begins. And that's precisely how the starlet likes it. "This job has been one of the greatest gifts I've ever been given," Rachel shared.
She continued, "It sounds corny, but I mean it. It's been fun to watch people continue to develop these characters over time. I am excited by the fact that I'm still terrified. Every time I get a new script, every time I show up on set, I'm petrified. And that's a rare gift four seasons into something."
Season 4 premieres on February 18 on Amazon Prime Video.
