Like Amber Ruffin? How about Seth Myers? If you answered yes, you're about to be very excited. If you answered no? Keep scrolling, trust us when we say you're in for a real treat. From the hilarious plot to the release date, here's what we know about the duo's upcoming comedy...
As NBC recently announced, they've got a new comedy series headed our way. And with not 1 - but 3 - comedic legends behind the project? You won't want to miss this one. Titled, Aunties, the upcoming show is set to be co-produced by Seth Myers and written by The Amber Ruffin Show writer Shantira Jackson. As for what to expect, exactly?
Aside from a whole lot of laughs - a given, of course - the NBC series will follow a young woman as she returns home to help raise the women who had raised her, as Deadline first announced. Amber Ruffin of The Amber Ruffin Show will also be supervising the on-screen adventure, based loosely off of Jackson's (below) life.
Safe to say, if Ruffin's latest endeavor is anything like we've seen before, we're dealing with award-worthy laughs here. In case you forgot, the Hollywood comedian celebrated a major milestone back in September for her time starring in The Amber Ruffin Show. Not only did the series earn an Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series," but it marked only 1 of Ruffin's several Emmy nominations over the years.
Clearly, the girl knows what she's doing. And while we'll probably be waiting quite some time to tag along on her latest adventure, we've got a feeling it'll be well worth the wait. But we're not the only ones who feel that way. "Working with @amberruffin is always a dream come true and this is no exception!!!" Shantira Jackson gushed of their upcoming comedy. Until then, be sure to check out The Amber Ruffin Show streaming exclusively on Peacock. And of course, don't forget to stay tuned for further updates.
