Based on a true story, Hulu's comedy Woke stars New Girl's Lamorne Morris as Keef Knight, Workaholics actor Blake Anderson as Gunther, and Chicago Fire's T. Murph as Clovis. Season 1 is already on Hulu, but season 2 is dropping soon! If you haven't seen or heard of it yet, here's everything you need to know.
According to IMDb, Woke follows Keef, a "Cartoonist finally on the verge of mainstream success when an unexpected incident changes everything. Keef must now navigate the new voices and ideas that confront and challenge him, all without setting aflame everything he's already built." And, the second season is expected to be a hit!
After drawing his first cartoon on a bathroom wall, Knight's career takes off. But, things take a turn when his cartoon subjects begin to talk back to him. Beer bottles encouraging the idea of having superpowers, for example. "Man, you woke," said Clovis, hinting that what we saw from the trailer is just the tip of the iceberg.
Morris's character must react quickly when an image of himself comes alive, sending him into a frenzy. Knight has to maneuver being in the spotlight with his goofy roommates by his side while figuring out what's real versus his imagination coming alive. But this time, he isn't drawing crowd-pleasingly dull comic strips anymore.
Sharing the screen with Workaholics' class clown, Blake Anderson mixes in just the right amount of immaturity to this social-action-packed comedy. The show is expected to leave you laughing and squirming in your seats while Morris's character wiggles right along with you. Ignorance was bliss, but now, the marker is un-capped.
With all of the hype surrounding this hit comedy series, you won't want to miss it! So, make sure to mark your calendars because all episodes of Woke are coming to Hulu on September 9th! Until then, we'll be rewatching season 1, preparing ourselves for the many anticipated laughs and lessons ahead.
