2021 is a big year for comedic icon Will Ferrell. First, he reunited with an old friend to film The Shrink Next Door, and now he's begun filming another comedy with one very hilarious father, Ryan Reynolds. The two stars are teaming up for Apple TV's adaptation of A Christmas Carol.

The new film, titled Spirited, will be a musical (and hilarious) reimagining of the classic tale. Reynolds is set to play Scrooge, the man whose night is interrupted by three spirits - the ghosts of Chrismas Past, Present, and Future - wanting to make him a happier human. So who will Will Ferrell act as?

The Eurovision star is taking on the role of Ghost of Christmas Present. Sounds promising to us! And with filming underway, Reynolds blessed our feeds with a shot of the two funny guys together. And let's just say the A-listers got uncomfortably close for whatever scene they were filming. And, as usual, Ryan had a caption that got some good chuckles out of fans.

"You'd barely notice this was an @Apple movie," the Match.com rep wrote, making a joke about his wearing Airpods during filming. And yes, we're freaking out at the news that Ferrell is one of Reynold's "comedy idols." Some might say it takes one to know one! But the hilarious tweet was actually Ryan's second attempt at trolling Apple.

The actor initially wrote that "iOS 9.3.3" would soon be installing, and fans quickly pointed out that it was a very outdated reference. "While we live in 2021 (14.6), the @VancityReynolds lives in 2016 (9.3.3)," one user hilariously tweeted. Needless to say, we can't wait to get more sneak peeks into Spirited (extra points if they come along with funny captions from Ryan). We'll make sure to keep you in the loop.
