It's been nearly twenty years since Reese Witherspoon delivered her iconic performance in Legally Blonde, and turned the Harvard rom-com into a cult classic. And despite all this time, the film remains ever-so-current and quotable in today's pop culture. "What... Like it's hard?"

Reese Witherspoon's character, Elle Woods, may be fictional, but her impact is undeniable. And real-life grads found the perfect way to honor their legal rom-com idol. As this year's academic year comes to a close, Twitter saw one particular homage to the film that gained major buzz.

Lex, a fresh grad from the University of North Texas's Dallas College of Law, took time to celebrate her major accomplishment. Lucky for us, she also paid tribute to one of comedy's most iconic law grads along the way. The proud student had a Legally Blonde-themed photo shoot to commemorate the occasion: Complete with a hot pink suit and a purse dog, just like Bruiser Woods. And, as if a diploma and ceremony weren't enough for the academic, Lex also got a shoutout from her legal idol.

The one and only Reese Witherspoon took to Twitter to show some love for Lex's accomplishment. "Congrats ! YOU DID IT!" the 45-year-old wrote. Needless to say, fans of Witherspoon were ecstatic to see the accomplished film star refer back to her legendary role for the occasion. "This kind of post is why the internet was created!" one user commented. But Reese's throwback came at no surprise - the Hollywood figure has been vocal about her love of the role for some time now. "I think she just inspired people to believe in themselves," the actress emotionally shared during a cast reunion back in 2020. And it looks like she was right, as countless other grads paid their respects to the iconic Harvard grad.

With the film's twentieth anniversary right around the corner this summer, we're hoping that more Legally Blonde commemoration will come our way. Until then, congratulations to all the law grads out there! We know you'll kick legal butt.
