A short teaser for the highly-anticipated movie remake of The Munsters has just dropped - and we cannot wait to see inside of 1313 Mockingbird Lane once again! Rob Zombie's upcoming project was announced in June 2021 and, according to him, has been a dream project for years. The 1960's sitcom is back, with a new twist - so let's check out the details!
The original CBS sitcom, The Munsters, featured a somewhat different family made up of Frankenstein's monster, a couple of vampires, a werewolf, and an ordinary girl. The funny part is, Marilyn, the human, was the odd one out! The Munsters originally aired in 1964 for only two years, around the same time The Addams Family ran on ABC. A syndicated version of the sitcom was brought to television screens in 1988 for three years, and years later, NBC adapted the original for a reboot series from Jeth Meyers and Jill Kargman.
Legendary director Rob Zombie dropped the first glance of his cinematic masterpiece, giving audiences a lot to look forward to for when it debuts! The teaser includes the show's original opening credits but with the 2022 cast of Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily, and Jeff Daniel Phillips playing Herman. Zombie has had this project brewing for years as he took to Instagram last Summer to announce to his followers, "Attention Boils and Ghouls! The rumors are true! My next film project will be the one I've been chasing for 20 years! THE MUNSTERS! Stay tuned for exciting details as things progress." The exciting news prompted many ecstatic fans to gear up for a new version of their favorite show.

Following the news, Zombie has occasionally given fans some behind-the-scenes footage of what the colorful remake is going to look like. "For those of you speculating, wondering and assuming that 'The Munsters' would be dirty, violent and nasty … well, you are wrong," Zombie has since teased on his Instagram. We can only imagine what will be going down on Mockingbird Lane this time and can't wait to find out...
