We all remember what it was like being stuck at home during a lockdown right? And even though we all went through it together, we all had different experiences. That's exactly what the upcoming quarantine rom-com, The End Of Us, is all about. Here are the details you need to know about the movie.
Many found love during the few months at home, while others had the opposite happen to them. This romantic comedy follows the two main characters, Leah and Nick, after they break up the day that the stay-at-home order was placed, ultimately leaving them as lockdown-buddies. Neither of them is sure what to do, they can't kick the other out but they also can't continue living together post-break-up. The characters, played by Ali Vingiano and Ben Coleman, just so happen to be the ones who created the movie after they experienced similar events in their real lives! That's right, it's based on a true story...maybe that's why it seems so relatable.
The pair decided it would be a great idea for a movie, so they rented out an Airbnb, hired a few crew members, and got to work. Since the entire production was filmed in the midst of the pandemic, there were only 5 other members (aside from the leads) working on the set. The writer and director is former Buzzfeed producers, Henry Loevner and Steven Kanter. And the producer, Claudia Restrepo, who is actually featured in the movie for a bit as "Flute Girl." Kate Peterman portrayed Leah's best friend and Gadiel as Nick's. All of them explained how fun it was to work on this film, even though it only took them 2 short weeks to finish.
The End Of Us was first premiered at SXSW Film Festival a few months back, and now it's available to the public to enjoy on Amazon Prime or Apple TV. The film is a mix of comedy, drama, and love as the two characters try and figure out their relationship while going through a tough experience.
