Giving back to the community suddenly never looked... funnier. In only a matter of time, Pete Davidson and other comedians plan to take to the big stage for a live comedy special. Here's what to know about the charity event which will also pay tribute to a cause very close to the SNL star's heart...

On September 12th at Madison Square Garden, expect to see lots of familiar faces as Pete Davidson and Jon Stewart team up to bless us with a night of good fun. But don't think that date is random. Titled, NYC Still Rising After 20 Years: A Comedy Celebration, the star-studded event isn't just another excuse to put a smile on our faces (though it certainly will)...

"We wanted to put on a fun celebration to honor this great city’s resilience. It’s nice to be able to do this with friends and people we love," Stewart and Davidson proudly explained of their big plans. As they revealed, the upcoming gig will help raise money for several 9/11 charities - something near and dear to both comedians' hearts.

In case you forgot, Davidson's father, Scott, was one of many brave New York firefighters who tragically lost their lives during the attacks on September 11, 2001. Contrarily, Stewart has been advocating for 9/11 victims for years now - including his upcoming documentary No Responders Left Behind set to air on Discovery+ on September 9. Safe to say, their upcoming comedy special will further pay tribute to the special cause - all while cracking a smile or two.

As for who, exactly, will be joining in on the fun? From Amy Schumer to Dave Chappelle to Jimmy Fallon, the star-studded event is officially bringing Hollywood to the Big Apple. And we couldn't be any more excited. Tickets will be available for pre-sale starting August 11 at 12 p.m. ET on Ticketmaster.com upon proof of vaccination and proper ID.
