Never have we ever been able to contain our excitement about season 4 of Mindy Kaling's comedy! The Netflix original series aired in 2021 but immediately became popular amongst its audience. Tackling typical teenage issues with lighthearted humor is clearly the way forward for this generation. Now, season four is on the way with some extra special surprises. Here's what we know.
The coming-of-age comedy, created and written by Mindy Kaling, has been a huge hit. The series follows a troubled teen, Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), who experiences changes and learns how to deal with puzzling situations while trying to maintain her lifestyle without a father figure. Season one soared through Netflix, while season 2 had its viewers in stitches as they watched Devi work around having two boyfriends. In season 3, Devi continues with her aim to alter her status as an Indian-American teen and, once again, overcome multiple obstacles that were thrown her way. Kaling has previously been outspoken, "having a great time writing it," so it only makes sense that the power of comedy has won this round once again, bringing Netflix lovers a fourth season!
In the recently released trailer for the up-and-coming season, Maitreyi is seen preparing for scenes as she talks to surrounding cast mates. As the teens gather around to read the script, they are too faced with plenty of teases. From graduation, new names and heartthrobs, and shocking wedding announcements, who knows what they could throw our way. However, one particular cast member has announced their entrance on set. Introducing The Goldbergs alumn, Jeff Garlin. According to Deadline, Garlin is set to join the crew as "a sweet man who fixes a mean sandwich and who makes Nirmala (Ranjita Chakravarty) reconsider if she really is done with relationships forever." Although Garlin was a devoted cast member of the ABC sitcom, he decided to leave "on his own terms," says ENews! Nevertheless, he has a track record of playing every role to perfection and will assuredly be a great addition to the NHIE crew. While Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Darren Barnet, and Jaren Lewison will continue to reign over Sherman Oaks High School, we can also expect Michael Cimino to join the rest of the gang.

We have to credit Mindy for creating a highly-relatable series that caters to almost every emotion. Throughout the highs and lows, there's something extremely attractive about the script as well as how they tackle stereotypical situations. While it's been a good run, we're not ready to say goodbye after the final season! Until then, stay tuned.
