Black Mirror creators Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones teamed up once more for the comedic film Death to 2020. "This landmark documentary-style special weaves together some of the world's most (fictitious) renowned voices with real-life archival footage spanning the past 12 months," reads the synopsis.

An A-list cast plays the fictional characters discussing the real events of 2020. Hugh Grant and Samuel L. Jackson are joined by Cristin Milioti, Lisa Kudrow, Joe Keery, Diane Morgan, Tracey Ullman, Leslie Jones, and Kumail Nanjiani. Laurence Fishburne stars as the narrator.

Lisa Kudrow's role is that of political commentator Jeanetta Grace Susan, and Tracey Ullman portrays Queen Elizabeth II. The rest of the characters include a soccer mom and tech company CEO, among others.

Co-creator Charlie Brooker thinks the film brings something unique to the popular streaming site. "It felt like an apt format for Netflix, which is known for high-end documentaries, but also like a good opportunity to create a different kind of comedy special that deals with the year head-on while also showcasing some brilliant performers," he said.

"I don't love the word 'satire,' but there's some of that here, alongside some angry jokes, and some goofy jokes," Brooker continued. "And hopefully viewers will find at least one joke to their liking - because let's face it, in 2020, any laugh you can emit no matter how fleeting is a small but precious victory." Here's to a better 2021!
