We don't know about you, but as soon as the days get shorter and the nights get cooler, a night in with Netflix starts to sound more and more appealing. And luckily, the streaming service provider has got some quality content lined up for us.
From mall decorations to songs on the radio, Christmas starts to come preeeetty early nowadays. And apparently, Netflix jumped on board with the early celebration train with their November 7th release of Father Christmas Is Back. This family comedy has been in the works for over a year, as the cast and crew were spotted filming in the northern English region of North Yorkshire back in 2020 and even released trailers and teasers as production advanced along. But thankfully, after over a year of waiting, the new comedy is coming to Netflix in just a few weeks.

The highly anticipated family comedy tells the story of four distant sisters who reconnect during the holiday season at a Yorkshire mansion. The foursome siblings from the Christmas family couldn't be further apart in personality, as Caroline Christmas, the family control freak, tries to micro-manage her way into the perfect holiday festivities. She's motivated to right the wrong that happened in her life years ago when she, her mother, and her three other sisters were abandoned by their father, James Christmas, on December 25th of all days. But, of course, like all good comedies, little to nothing will go to plan as the holiday progresses.
The hyper-controlled festivities are interrupted by their long-lost father as he derails the Christmas family celebrations and forces the family to face the facts that tore them apart all those years ago. But any dramatic tension along the way is cut by comedy legends cast in the project, including John Cleese, Elizabeth Hurley, and many more. And with the accomplished producer and director Philippe Martinez steering the ship, we can expect big things from this project.
So, consider our popcorn in the microwave, calendars set, and comfy sweatsuit ready to go for this holiday flick. And be sure to check back for more upcoming releases.
