After a two-year deal running two comedy shows, HBO has decided not to continue running some of Mike Judge's series'. For the last couple of years, QualityLand and A5, both created by Mike Judge, have been streamed on HBO. However, the deal has expired, and the network will not be moving forward with either series. Judge also wrote Silicon Valley, which ended after six seasons.

This decision has been made right around the same time that Judge decided to focus on the modern re-make of the MTV comedy, Beavis and Butthead, on Comedy Central. It's part of an animation deal that Mike made with the ViacomCBS network. Judge is doing it all, as he'll write, produce, and provide voiceovers for both characters.

The Beavis and Butthead contract was completely separate from the deal Judge had with HBO and practically brought his career full-circle; Mike launched his film career with this very series before working on Office SpaceIdiocracy, and others. While QualityLand and A5 have been canceled for the foreseeable future, loyal fans will cherish the shows forever.

QualityLand portrayed "the story of humanity's struggle against the tyranny of convenience. But funny," according to the official description. It was based on the novel by Marc-Uwe Kling and was co-produced by both HBO and Lionsgate. Judge's other series that's been canceled, A5, is about a bioengineer who makes a fascinating discovery. The scientist discovered a gene that could turn a person into an a**hole. He then looked into the reason behind some of this behavior. Although HBO is losing two memorable shows, they're also gaining many others.

Casey Bloys, HBO's Programming President, explained that since the network now includes HBO Max, they now have a larger budget to add a whole new library of movies and TV shows. This consists of a new docuseries called The Lady and the Dale and Irresistible, a film starring Steve Carrell and Rose Byrne.
