Everything We Know About Mike Judge’s New Animated Comedy

While back in the day, animation was limited to children's television and movies, in the past few decades, it has found itself a whole new audience with adults. From The Simpsons to Ricky and Morty, there's a surprising appeal to watching traditionally-tame animated characters get up to all sorts of adult-rated adventures. Peacock has now jumped on board the trend, announcing their new adult comedy series, In The Know. These are all the details we know so far...

This new animated comedy comes to us from the creative minds of Mike Judge, Greg Daniels, Zach Woods, Brandon Gardner, and Dustin Davis. Their joint resumes include some of the greatest series ever written, including The Office, Silicon Valley, Beavis and Butt-Head, and King Of The Hill. Judge and Woods will be doubling up their roles, acting as executive producers and lending their voices to the characters. While the rest of the cast has not yet been announced, we're betting competition is fierce to be involved with a high-profile project such as this.

With all the credentials lined up, much curiosity surrounded the series plot. Finally, Peacock released an official statement, teasing audiences with some exciting details. "Lauren Caspian is NPR's third most popular host," they said. "He's a well-meaning, hypocritical nimrod, just like you and me. He's also a stop-motion puppet. Each episode follows the making of an episode of Lauren's show In the Know, in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real-world human guests. Lauren collaborates with a diverse crew of NPR staff. They are also puppets and nimrods."

As explained by the President of Scripted Content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, the show will play on our casual daily conversations in a "heightened, hilarious way." Talking of the partnership, Universal. TV president Erin Underhill explained that they are "thrilled to be working on this unique and inventive series with such an accomplished team and can't wait for audiences to be In the Know." With these comedic legends directing the ship, we have no doubt there will be plenty of heartfelt and hilarious moments throughout. Stay tuned for the release date and more!
