Madelyn Cline is Set to Star in Upcoming Comedy 'Knives Out 2'
| LAST UPDATE 06/09/2021
No "heavy-duty conjecture" here, the production team behind the highly anticipated Knives Out sequel has announced another actor has joined the ranks of their already long, star-studded cast. The question is, how long will she last before getting killed off in the comedic murder mystery?
Madelyn Cline has signed on for Knives Out 2 and will test her fate with the cut-throat script writing that we've come to love. The actress was added to the role-call with Hollywood greats including Dave Bautista, Janelle Monae, Edward Norton, and many others. And, of course, Daniel Craig has set to reprise his role as Detective Benoit Blanc. Cline, aged 23, gained major praise for her roles in Netflix's Outer Banks and Stranger Things, with the former landing her a People's Choice Award and MTV Movie & TV Award. Madelyn's vast Netlfix experience certainly proved to be an asset following the pricey deal signed by the subscription provider.
Back in March of 2020, the billion-dollar company (as reported by Forbes) acquired the rights to two Knives Out sequels. And the contract came with a hefty price tag. According to Deadline, the total bill for the agreement came in at $400 million. Seems like all those zeros were allocated to talent, as director Rian Johnson has hired hoards of actors and actresses for part two. Other hotshots included Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., and Kate Hudson, to name a few.
But from what we know so far, a great deal of the check was also spent on location costs. As reported by Vulture, Greece has been set as the location for filming. Plans were made for the crew to hit the ground this summer to get the ball rolling. But besides a growing list of talent and location details, production's been mum's the word about the whole ordeal. Nothing has been revealed about the upcoming plot, leaving fans to speculate who will be the first to go in the sequel.
But one thing's for sure, if this cast gets any bigger, Rain Johnson will find himself running out of room on whatever Grecian island he finds himself on. Be sure to check back with us for more updates on this highly anticipated production...
