Lil Nas X Tells Jimmy Fallon Why He "Will Never Trust Pants Again"
| LAST UPDATE 05/26/2021
Grammy-winning singer Lil Nas X joined Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show to discuss all things music. And, of course, that viral wardrobe malfunction during his time as Saturday Night Live's musical guest. Here are all of the hilarious details.
In case you missed it, Lil Nas X performed hit single Montero for the first time ever on SNL. And the steamy choreography led to one very big wardrobe malfunction: the 22-year-old ripped his pants on stage (and handled it like a boss). "I was pretty much going down the pole, doing my little sexy drop-down and, boom, I feel air," the singer described, which got Jimmy cackling.

"I was like, 'There is definitely a breeze going on'... I was like, 'Just please don't be on TV already,' you know? And SNL is actually live," Lil Nas continued. "You know what the worst part is? At the end of the performance, the dancers are supposed to touch me and tug on me or whatever. And they were tugging on the pants, and I was like, 'Please, g-d, no.'"
Lil Nas might be able to recall the incident humorously, but that doesn't mean he's forgetting it anytime soon. The star wore a skirt on The Tonight Show, and it apparently had everything to do with the wardrobe malfunction. "Stop asking me why I'm wearing a skirt," the Billboard Chart-topper tweeted. "I will never trust pants again!" Lil Nas then promised his highly anticipated Montero album would be one for the books.
The Old Town Road performer isn't the only guest who recently sat down with the hilarious talk show host to discuss upcoming projects. The nicest guy in Hollywood, Kevin Hart, appeared virtually on The Tonight Show on May 25 and gave the inside scoop on his new movie, Fatherhood. And it looks like fans of the Celebrity Game Face host should get ready to see a slightly different side of this comedic icon.
The film is a heartwarming comedy-drama about a dad raising his baby girl alone after the untimely passing of his wife shortly after their daughter's birth. "For me to take on the role, it gave me the opportunity to show a Black father in a positive light," Hart shared of why he wanted to star in the movie. "And also challenging myself to go a little deeper into acting. It's a serious story, it's emotional, and it has its waves." It sounds like this time around, Kevin will be making us laugh and cry. We'll get the tissues ready.
