Go and clear your calendars because another Adam Sandler gem is officially headed our way! That’s right. From the true story it’s based on to the star-studded cast, here’s what we know about the Happy Madison Netflix comedy…
For starters, the upcoming comedy, titled Home Team, will follow a pro-football coach who finds himself in deep trouble after facing suspension. As a result, he decides to head back to his hometown - but that's not where the story ends. There, the protagonist reconnects with his 12-year-old son by coaching the Pop Warner football team. Sound somewhat familiar? There's a good reason for that.
The family film is actually based on a true story: The saga of famous New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton. In case you forgot, Mr. Payton was actually suspended from the 2012 NFL league for serious bribes. But don't worry, the upcoming adventure will still call for a whole lot of laughs.
With Kevin James, Taylor Lautner, and Rob Schneider, among others, set to star, we're certainly in for a treat. But perhaps our favorite part about the Netflix comedy? Adam Sandler will be joining along for the ride. Yes, really. His company, Happy Madison (along with Hey Eddie Productions), is set to produce. And we've suddenly never been more excited.
As for when we'll get to tag along on the adventure? Unfortunately, we might be waiting a while. While production is already underway, Netflix still has yet to announce a release date. Nonetheless, if it's anything like we've seen before? We've got a feeling it'll be well worth the wait.
Lucky for us, though, we've got an endless array of Adam Sandler flicks to tide us over in the meantime. From 2020's Hubie Halloween to Murder Mystery (which, don't let the name fool ya, is nothing short of amusing), the funny guy has been quite busy these days.
