Jimmy Kimmel is coming back for another three years! There was speculation if the late-night host would renew his contract, which was set to expire next year, when he told radio host Howard Stern he was debating what to do. Fans should be happy to know that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be returning.

Jimmy is set to continue as host and executive producer of his late-night show. With three more years signed on for, the show will reach its 23rd season. The 20th anniversary will be in 2023. Audiences will surely be in for a treat as they celebrate the big milestone of being on air for two decades. This will make Kimmel the longest-tenured host on late-night television currently. Although, he still has a few years left if he wants to break the record by David Letterman, who hosted for 33 years. Live! has been nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Variety Talk Series category since 2012. Although, it has never clinched the actual award. The show has risen in total average ratings, only second to CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

In addition to hosting his show, Kimmel has hosted the Oscars and Emmy awards shows. He also has multiple projects in development with ABC. Kimmel has created some of the funniest viral bits in entertainment. From asking parents to tell their kids that they ate all their Halloween candy, while filming their reactions to an ongoing “feud” with Good Will Hunting actor Matt Damon, Kimmel has made audiences laugh for two decades. With the show’s renewal announcement, fans will be ecstatic to continue having him on their television screens. Kimmel stated, “After two decades at ABC, I am now looking forward to three years of what they call ‘quiet quitting.’” Making a joke about the new phenomenon that seems to be popping up all over, where workers will only do what is in their job description and nothing beyond that.

Three more years of Kimmel on television means three more years of laughs, fun, and the best bits on the internet. The show will return to Brooklyn for its sixth visit in New York City, which is sure to be a good time. Are you excited about Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s return?
