Some of our favorite comedic faces are reuniting just in time for the holidays. Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel will join other Elf cast members for a special table reading of the classic Christmas film.

The live table reading will happen virtually on December 13 and is set to be hosted by comedian Ashley Nicole Black. Ferrell and Deschanel will be joined by former castmates Bob Newhart, Mary Steenburgen, Edward Asner, John Lithgow, Amy Sedaris, Andy Richter, Kyle Gass, Danny Woodburn, and Ed Helms, among others.

Funny girl Zooey, who recently shared the truth behind one of the hilarious scenes in the 2003 film, took to Twitter to share the news. "If I were any more excited to be in the #ElfforGeorgia reunion I might explode into a burst of snowflakes," she wrote.

The actress continued, "Join me, Will Ferrell, and many other amazing people from the original cast along with some special guests for our live reading!" Zooey explained that proceeds from the event will go to Georgia's state elections. The comedy star isn't the only one looking forward to the reunion.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Ferrell is "excited to bring Buddy back to the small screen." Hostess Ashley Nicole Black also shared her enthusiasm on social media. "I've got the best Sunday plans EVER, and I want y'all to join," she wrote to fans. We're counting down the days to the virtual event!
